SUMMARY OF RULES AND GUIDELINES

  • Members need an account and login (username, password and PIN number) to use this system
  • All Play must be on pre-booked courts booked using this system
  • Members can book / cancel courts either via the web site, by using the touch screens at the club, or by phone during bar opening hours
  • Booking rules ensure a fair and equitable distribution of the available courts. Off-peak members may only book and play on off-peak courts.
  • Courts are released for members to book 7 days in advance. Courts 4 & 5 are released at 6:00am, Court 3 at 1:00pm and Courts 1 & 2 at 7:00pm
  • Members book courts free-of-charge although a £2.00 fee will be incurred for late cancellations (those made within 48 hours of the court start time) if a cancelled court is not re-booked
  • An opponent should be added to the booking. This can be done at any time before the court start time / check-in. Early completion helps everyone seeking an opponent
  • All players must check-in via the touch screens by entering their PIN number and first letter of their surname (up to 30 minutes before / up to 10 minutes after the court start time). The touch screen will inform each player whom they are playing, on which court, and at what time.
  • Fees are incurred for no-shows or cancellations after the court start time (peak courts are £4.00 and off-peak courts are £2.00)
  • Members should make every effort to cancel unwanted courts so others can use the court and to minimise the chance of incurring a late cancellation fee
  • When playing guests, in addition to signing the Visitors Register and paying the £2.00 guest fee by purchasing stickers, GUEST must be selected as the opponent on the booking and the guest checked-in using the PIN number "9999" and letter "G"
  • When booking solo training sessions, SOLO PLAY should be selected instead of an opponent
  • Two light tokens are required for a 40 min booking
  • If courts are booked and used normally, there will be no account activity. Only fees incurred are debited to a member’s account
  • If a member’s account overdraft limit is exceeded, Top-up Vouchers priced at £6.00, must be purchased via the bar and applied to the account to settle the fees / reinstate booking rights
  • with feedback, issues or if you need to arrange a block booking for an event or activity

Don’t forget to update your optional settings and your profile page including a photograph or two. Check your own entry in the members’ directory and in the squash and / or racketball leagues.

Guests

Members are encouraged to invite guests to the club to play. Non-members / guests may only play with an introducing member and must be signed in to the Club Visitors Book and checked-in to the court booking system. On each visit a guest fee of two booking stamps is to be paid by the introducing member in addition to any other court charges or fees. Guests may play a maximum of three times in any twelve month period and thereafter they are expected to become a club member.

Court sessions immediately after matches or competitions are booked at members’ risk. The match or competition will have priority although every effort will be made by organisers to book sufficient time for the event.

Marking racket heads - some squash and racket heads have a black not clear edge – these mark the squash walls and increase costs of court maintenance. Please ensure if you have one of these rackets you apply a strip of white head protector tape – available from behind the bar/ from Roy Cooper or purchase a roll from a sports shop. This action will help keep our courts in good repair and assist in keeping court maintenance costs down.

Coaching courts - the club are very fortunate to have a number of qualified / registered coaches who provide coaching on an individual and group basis. Numbers of personal coaching courts are agreed with the Squash Committee and booked on the system.

Shoes MUST be non-marking displaying membership tag and must not be shoes worn for outside activities. Sand and other materials damage the courts and render the courts hazardous as well as damaging them.
