At the recent February 2009 Open tournament held at the Memorial Park in Coventry, Tom Holmes and Charlie Griffin from the Kenilworth Tennis Club won the Under 18 Boys Doubles. Tom also won the Under 18 Boys Singles, with Charlie as runner up. The final was "a great match to watch", according to spectators. Tom took the first set 6 -1, but the second was much closer, at 7 -5.
The event had a strong entry from all over the County and Tom and Charlie beat some excellent opponents.
In the same tournament Freddie Davies got to the semi finals in the Under 10 group and Joseph Porter did the same in the Under-12s. It was a well organised event attended by many youngsters from the Crackley Lane Club.
